TEHRAN February 18. 2024 (Saba) - On Saturday, Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani announced that the "Arman" missile system was being equipped in less than three minutes.
General Ashtiani was quoted by Tasnim International News Agency during the unveiling ceremony of the new systems of Iranian defence networks on Saturday, saying: "In line with the country's defence capability and the continuation of the promised disclosures, the Ministry of Defence focuses all its efforts on meeting the needs of the armed forces in the areas of defence support, materiel and weapons. Today, two major achievements in Iran's defence industry are being unveiled.
The martyr Arman's system, which had been unveiled today in memory of the martyr Arman Ali Wardi, was a medium-range, high-altitude operational system that could identify, engage with and destroy targets at a distance of 180 km.
Regarding the Azarakhsh low-altitude air defense system, Brigadier-General Ashtiani stated that it was another achievement to protect critical and sensitive centres in the country from threats from drones and micro-aircraft (MAV), a category of man-portable mini-drones whose size allows them to be used at low altitudes.
Brigadier Ashtiani explained that the "Azershach" system is short-range and has the ability to install on all types of vehicles and perform day and night operations, it is very flexible because the advanced 3D radar system, visual research and advanced researchers are used and also this system can destroy targets in the shortest possible time as the martyr system is "glorious."
