649 thousand, 147 medical services provided of Republican Hospital Authority

SANA'A February 03. 2024 (Saba) -The Republican Hospital Authority in the capital Sana'a, keen to implement the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, al-Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and the head of the Supreme Political Council to provide medical services to the poor.

The fruits of these directives, whose humanitarian goals boil down to realizing the dreams of the poor and needy were evident in the hospital’s follow-up, facilitation, and development of medical services and improving its around the clock.

The hospital witnessed unprecedented turnout after President Mahdi Al-Mashat announced in September last year that medical services free for the poor.

The hospital worked to study the problems to organize work mechanisms, receive patients, and facilitate procedures for obtaining health services.

A report issued by the hospital to (Saba), stated that after the adoption of free services, medical services worth two billion and 217 million and 67 thousand riyals provided of which one billion and 200 million provided by the Zakat Authority and one billion and 17 million and 67 thousand riyals provided by Republican Hospital Authority.

The report touched on the factors that contributed to the success of implementing presidential directives, especially in infrastructure, through rehabilitating and modernizing hospital centers and departments and equipping its with the necessary capabilities in accordance with quality standards in all medical specialties.

The report pointed out that one of the success factors attracting consulting cadres in most specialties to improve medical services and provide medical cadres in addition to the existing cadres.

The Chairman of the Authority, Dr. Muhammad Jahaf, explained that these achievements come within the framework of the interest of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council for the poor and needy who need medical and therapeutic services.

He stated that the hospital authority made great efforts in providing health services to poor and needy patients, with the contribution of the Zakat Authority.

He said, "After the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council to receive sick poor and needy people for free at the expense of the Zakat Authority, the hospital received increasingly sick cases."

Dr. Jahaf stressed the keenness to improve the medical services provided to citizens and alleviate the suffering of patients.

He appreciated the interest and support of the Chairman of the Hospital's Supreme Political Council to ensure the continuity and improvement of medical and therapeutic services provided to patients, and to raise the level of performance.

He stated that the hospital authority achieved a qualitative leap in many services, and senior specialists and consultants have been attracted from various governorates to perform qualitative and complex operations.

Dr.Jahaf pointed out that the authority has ambitions in the coming period to transplant liver and cornea, as intensive studies are currently being conducted, benefiting from the experiences of a number of countries.

During the years 1444 - 1445 AH, the Authority witnessed the completion of a package of infrastructure projects, modernization and development of specialized centers and various departments, and the introduction of the latest therapeutic and diagnostic medical equipment to achieve safe and effective medical care for patients with distinguished quality.

In January of this year 2024, the hospital authority began implementing the project to generate electricity using solar energy, funded by the Central Emergency Development Interventions Unit of the Ministry of Finance, it consists of 580 solar panels with a total generating power of up to 400 kilowatts.

It is noteworthy that on September 25, 2023, the Republican Teaching Hospital Authority and the General Authority for Zakat signed an agreement to provide free medical services to the poor and needy.
