Resistance factions denounce Security Council resolution demanding Yemen to stop targeting Zionist ships
[12/ January/2024]
CAPITALS January 12. 2024(Saba)-The Security Council resolution demanding Yemen to stop targeting Zionist ships in the Red Sea, within the framework of Yemen’s support the Palestinians and seeking to stop the aggression and siege on Gaza, was widely condemned by the factions and movements in Resistance countries Axis on Thursday.

On Wednesday evening, the United Nations Security Council adopted draft Resolution No. 2722, which calls for an immediate cessation of attacks from Yemen “on Zionist ships in the Red Sea.” Eleven countries voted in favor of the resolution, and four others abstained from voting, namely: Russia, China, Algeria and Mozambique.

In this context, the head of the national negotiating delegation, Mohamed Abdel Salam, considered that “Resolution 2722 represents a historical disgrace to an international council that is concerned, as it claims, with protecting international peace , security, and appears in contradiction to its function.”

Abdel Salam said: “After about 100 days of unprecedented genocide against the people of Gaza, the UN Security Council decides to condemn the operations in the Red Sea, and this encourages the Zionist criminal entity to continue its crimes against the Palestinians.”

He added: The UN Security Council condemns itself for this blind bias towards the criminal Zionist occupier, who is being prosecuted in the International Court of Justice for his brutal crimes.

He explained that the operations carried out by the Yemeni armed forces in the Red Sea "aim to draw the world's attention to the necessity of fulfilling its responsibility by pressuring the Zionist enemy entity to stop the brutal crimes of genocide against the people of Gaza."

On the other hand, a member of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, Muhammad Ali Al-Houthi, confirmed that the United Nations resolution regarding the security of navigation in the Red Sea is a “political game.”

He said: “The United States is the one violating international law.” He added: “What the Yemeni armed forces are doing comes within the framework of legitimate defense, and any action they face will have a reaction.”

In return, he called on the Security Council to immediately release 2.3 million people from the Zionist-American siege, which has become a deadly weapon, and because of which Gaza has become the largest prison in which collective criminal punishment is practiced.

The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, denounced the UN Security Council resolution that condemned Yemen for preventing the ships of the Zionist enemy and those dealing with it from sailing in the Red and Arab Seas.

The movement said in a statement : “We in the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas express our deep regret and denunciation of the issuance of a resolution in the UN Security Council condemning Ansar Allah in Yemen for preventing ships that deal with the occupation, to pressure it to bring in food and medicine, and to stop the starvation policy it is committing against children and defenseless civilians in Gaza Strip.”

The statement added: “We consider this decision, which was supported by President Biden’s administration, to be politicized ,misleading public opinion, and constitutes a cover for the Nazi occupation to continue its aggression against our Palestinian people, commit more massacres and genocidal wars, for which it is being tried before the International Court of Justice.”

The Hamas movement stressed that “the presence of the occupation and its continued aggression against children and defenseless civilians in Gaza Strip is the problem and the real threat to peace and security in the region, and that the solution lies in ending the occupation, stopping its aggression ,genocide, enabling our people to determine their fate , achieve their aspirations for freedom, independence and return.”

In turn, the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine condemned the Security Council resolution demanding Yemen to stop targeting Zionist ships in the Red Sea.

The movement said in a statement: We condemn in the strongest terms the unjust resolution issued by the Security Council, in which it calls on the brothers in Yemen to stop what the resolution called attacks on ships in the Red Sea, under the pretext that they threaten international peace and security, at a time when the Zionist aggression against civilians continues and civilian facilities in Gaza are continuing.

The statement added: “Issuing such a decision, without demanding that the Nazi Zionist entity stop its massacres, withdraw from Gaza Strip, lift the siege on our people in Gaza Strip, and allow the entry of basic materials without obstacles, which are the goals for which our brothers in Ansar Allah movement in Yemen moved to achieve, is Encouraging the Zionist entity to continue its war of extermination, and partnering with it in this war.”

The Jihad Movement stressed in its statement that "this resolution is further evidence that the Security Council is one of the tools of the major powers controlling it to falsify facts, legitimize Western criminality, and an instrument of pressure on peoples who are defending their rights."

The Jihad movement saluted the dear and brotherly Yemeni people for their steadfastness, stressing that the peoples of our nation will continue to resist and persevere until the injustice and Western hegemony over our nation is lifted.

In addition, the Islamic Action Front in Lebanon denounced “the dangerous decision taken by the UN Security Council and put forward by the United States of America against Yemen and the right of the member states of the United Nations to respond to stop the attacks on what they called commercial ships in the Red Sea.”

It considered this decision to be “outrageous, like other decisions that are biased in favor of the brutal Zionist enemy, which is killing people and stones in Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and southern Lebanon, without the UN Security Council doing anything or batting an eye at the genocide, massacres, holocausts, and massacres that the Zionist enemy is carrying out.” Against the Palestinian people who have been oppressed for 75 years and without implementing any UN or international resolution against this usurping entity, which has ignored all those resolutions related to the Palestinian issue that call on it, for example, to immediately adhere to them, including Resolutions 56, 101, 228, 237, 242, 248, 249, 252, 267, 271, and 338. 452 to 1402, leading to Resolution 194 regarding the right of the Palestinians to return to their homes.”

It indicated that the United States also voted in favor of the resolution and other previous and subsequent resolutions that clearly condemn the Zionist entity, but without implementing any of them or using force to force it to do so.

The Islamic Action Front in Lebanon saw that “brotherly Yemen and its support for the siege, genocide and massacres that Gaza is being subjected to are confronting the Zionist ships, or those carrying goods and other things for the usurping entity, until the brutal massacre stops, the aggression stops, the siege on Gaza is lifted, and all supplies, food and medical supplies are brought in.”

The UN Security Council resolutions denounced the rights of many Arab , Islamic countries and the use of violence and excessive force against them, such as Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan and others, while refraining from forcing the Zionist entity to implement those resolutions and using force against it and forcing it to implement them, which clearly indicates this deliberate and intentional bias, which confirms the choice of resistance is what forces the enemy to do so.”
