Inaugurating & inspecting community initiatives projects in secretariat capital

SANA'A November 29. 2023 (Saba)- The Mayor of the Capital, Hammoud Abbad, inaugurated work on a sanitation project for the eastern Jwalab neighborhood in Al-Haffa neighborhood in Shu’ub District, at a cost of 231 million riyals, with a community contribution.

The project, to which community members contribute an amount of 57 million riyals, includes connecting a main sewage line and household lines with a length of five thousand meters, implemented by the local water and sanitation corporation in the capital secretariat, and under the supervision of the General Administration of Community Initiatives Projects in the secretariat.

This project will benefit more than five thousand people from the targeted neighborhoods, and will contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens by treating the overflow of the people’s sewage drains and reducing the spread of epidemics and diseases, as well as delivering a sewage network to houses.

Community members are contributing an amount of 60 million riyals to the implementation of this project, which includes connecting a sewage network with a length of three thousand and 32 meters with diameters of 300-200-150 mm, and about 7 thousand people from Al-Fajr neighborhood in Bani Al-Harith will benefit from it.

In this regard, the Mayor of the Capital, Hammoud Abbad, praised the contributions of community members in implementing dozens of service and development projects in the fields of water, sanitation, roads, and others, within the framework of the community initiatives project plan implemented by the Capital Municipality in various directorates.

In addition, the Mayor of the Capital and a member of the Grievances Committee at the Presidency of the Republic, Judge Mansour Al-Arjali, reviewed the progress of work on the sanitation project in Al-Nahda neighborhood in Al-Thawra District, at a cost of one million and 100 thousand dollars.
