SANA'A November 18. 2023 (Saba) - The Ministry of Electricity and Energy announced that the tariff for a commercial electric power unit will be set at 257 riyals/kWh, starting from Thursday 3 Jumada Awal 1445, corresponding to November 16, 2023.
The Ministry explained in a statement, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that according to the price of a liter of diesel officially announced by the Yemeni Oil Company on Rabi’ al-Akhir 27, 1445, corresponding to November 11, 2023, the tariff for a unit of electrical energy sold to consumers by owners of private electric generators is 257 riyals/kWh.
The statement indicated that the Energy Activities Regulatory Council had approved a tariff matrix for the unit of electrical energy sold to consumers by owners of private electric generators, which is linked and moves with the price and cost of a liter of diesel fuel, up or down.
The statement called on the owners of private electric generators to fully adhere to this, stressing that anyone who violates will expose themselves to accountability and legal penalties.
The statement called on fellow citizens to cooperate and not pay any amounts otherwise.
