Officials of 18 UN agencies demand immediate ceasefire in Gaza
[06/ November/2023]
NEW YORK November 06. 2023 (Saba) - Officials of the main UN agencies on Monday called in a joint statement for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” in Gaza, expressing their anger at the number of civilian casualties in the Strip.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, the heads of UN agencies said “For nearly a month, the world has been watching the situation in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories with shock and horror at the (increasing) number of lives lost and destroyed.”

Officials from 18 organizations, including UNICEF, the World Food Program and the World Health Organization, added 30 days have passed, enough is enough, and there must be an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

They stressed that the horrific killings of civilians in Gaza and the deprivation of food, water and fuel are outrageous.

The officials stressed that it is unacceptable for the entire people of Gaza to be besieged and subjected to bombing in homes, shelters, hospitals, and places of worship.

They said since October 7, we have recorded the largest number of deaths of United Nations employees in a single conflict ever, noting the martyrdom of 77 employees of the international organization.

The officials called for the need to bring more aid into Gaza safely, quickly and adequately

They confirmed that more than 100 attacks have been on health facilities in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war.
