Developing Hodeida Corniche... New tourist attraction
[04/ November/2023]
Hodeida November 04. 2023 (Saba) - The implementation of the project to rehabilitate and develop the coastal corniche in the city of

Hodeida is accelerating at a rapid pace, as it is one of the most prominent tourism service projects that receives great and exceptional

attention, despite the economic challenges resulting from the repercussions of the aggression and the siege.

The leadership of the local authority in Hodeidah Governorate dropped the losing bets adopted by the mouthpieces of aggression in

questioning the completion of such projects, as is evident in reality from the extensive infrastructure in the course of the first phase of

the project, worth 593 million riyals.

The features of the first stages of this project are embodied in the qualitative construction work witnessed on the coast of the city of

Hodeida in a path to develop the waterfront of the Bride of the Red Sea Corniche to create a unique tourist outlet. The Corniche

development project is one of the most important service projects, and the governorate’s leadership is making extensive efforts to harness and mobilize all capabilities in order to implement it according to the highest tourism specifications.

Despite the scarcity of capabilities and the raids, escalation, and systematic destruction of services and projects that Hodeidah has been exposed to, the leadership of the local authority is facing a great challenge.

For many decades, the Corniche in the city of Hodeidah has lacked rehabilitation, despite the fact that it constitutes a tourist outlet and

increasing demand, as it did not receive any official gesture to rehabilitate the infrastructure and development. After years of neglect

and the absence of the most prominent components related to the specifications of the infrastructure and the supposed tourist and

entertainment services of the Corniche, efforts began to move towards establishing a new tourist destination, which is evident in the work of the first phase of the project, with self-financing from the governorate’s resources.

The project, which extends from the wall of the Maritime College to the public library, with a length of more than two kilometers,

represents a vivid picture of the official efforts that are being implemented during an exceptional period and difficult economic circumstances.

The governorate’s leadership realized the extent of the need to rehabilitate the Corniche with the severe crowding on the old Corniche

beach and the increasing number of visitors from several governorates, especially in the winter and holidays. A series of local authority

meetings resulted in the preparation of studies, approval of the implementation of the first phase of the project, and the launch of various designs with international specifications.

In anticipation of the launch of the project work, a series of technical designs were discussed for the new face of the Corniche coast

and the qualitative shift it will have. A series of local authority meetings resulted in the preparation of studies, approval of the

implementation of the first phase of the project, and the launch of various designs with international specifications.

In anticipation of the launch of the project work, a series of technical designs were discussed for the new face of the Corniche coast

and the qualitative shift it will have. The Governor of the Governorate, Muhammad Qahim, explained that the new Corniche project

represents an urgent necessity for a qualitative transition from the state of randomness, neglect and lack of services experienced by visitors, to the specifications of a tourist park that is infrastructure attractiveness.

He pointed out the touristic importance that the city’s Corniche represents, and is visited by thousands of visitors from various

governorates. He stated that the leadership of the local authority is working at a continuous pace to mobilize and harness all available

financial resources in implementing service and development projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
