BEIRUT October 13.2023 (Saba) - Lebanese journalist was martyred today, Friday, and two others were injured as a result of the Zionist enemy forces’ direct bombardment of their car in the town of Alma al-Shaab, southern Lebanon, while they were covering the Zionist aggression against southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese News Agency reported the martyrdom of journalist Issam Abdullah from Reuters, in addition to the wounding of Al Jazeera journalists Carmen Joukhadar and Eli Brakhia.
Media sources reported that the journalists were on top of a hill to monitor events in southern Lebanon and were placing signs to identify them as journalists, and they were not close to any military site.
Najib Mikati, Prime Minister of the Lebanese caretaker government, condemned the incident in a statement. He said that the targeting of journalists by the Zionist enemy forces is a “new stain” that is added to those forces’ record of killing and aggression, as he put it.
