MANILA October 04. 2023 (Saba) - Philippine authorities announced that an earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck the north of the country on Wednesday.
The Philippine State News Agency quoted the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology as saying that the earthquake occurred in the town of Calayan, Cagayan Province.
The earthquake, whose epicenter was 22 kilometers northwest of Dalupiri Island, struck the area at around 11:35 a.m. local time (03:35 UTC).
There were no immediate reports of damage or loss of life.
