QASR SHIRIN October 03. 2023 (Saba) - An earthquake measuring four on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday morning the “Sarpol Dhahab” area in Qasr Shirin city in Kermanshah province, western Iran, without causing any casualties.
The Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) quoted the Seismic Center of the Geophysical Institution at the University of Tehran as saying the 4 magnitude earthquake struck the area morning at 9:27 minutes and 29 seconds, at a depth of ten kilometers, and eight kilometers from Sarpol. One way, 27 km from Shirin Palace and 34 km from Izkala.
The center also announced that no potential financial or life damage from this earthquake has been reported so far.
The "Sarpol Dhahab" region is located in western Kermanshah and has a population of more than 90 thousand people.
It is noteworthy that the largest earthquake, measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale, occurred on November 12, 2016, 11 km from Izkala and 32 km from the city of Sarpol Dhahab, killing 620 people and injuring 12,386 others.
