Abdollahian: Japan put forward initiative to revive nuclear agreement
[26/ September/2023]
TEHRAN September 26. 2023 (Saba) - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has announced that Japan has put forward an initiative to revive the nuclear agreement.

Abdollahian said in an interview with the Japanese Kyodo News Agency published on Tuesday night that Japan proposed an initiative to revive the nuclear agreement between Iran and the six major powers, including the United States.

He pointed out that Iran supports Japan's constructive role in reviving the nuclear agreement.

Abdollahian added any Japanese initiative that is compatible with “Iran’s interests” will be interpreted positively by Tehran.

Kyodo News also wrote that the Iranian Foreign Minister did not provide details about this initiative as saying Abdollahian received the offer from the Japanese government when he visited Tokyo in August and met with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and then Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi.

The Japanese agency added according to Abdollahian the ambitions of the United States, Britain, France and Germany regarding the nuclear agreement led to delaying the progress of the negotiations.
