SANA'A September 14. 2023 (Saba)-The Acting head of the Supreme Economic Committee - Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen, Hashim Ismail, met today,Thursday, the Acting head of the Board of Directors of the Yemeni Banks Association, Mahmoud Qaid Naji.
During the meeting, issues of concern to the banking system in Yemen were discussed, as well as new formulas for the work of the banking sector after the adoption of the law prohibiting usurious transactions, in order to achieve the appropriate environment for the work of banks to contribute to the advancement of the national economy.
The meeting also discussed the obstacles facing banks at this stage and the solutions needed to remove them.
The Acting head of the Economic Committee stressed the state’s interest in developing the performance of the banking sector and resolving the problems facing it, in implementation of the directives of His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council.
