RAMALLAH Sep. 03. 2023 (Saba) - The Palestinian Prisoners' and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs Commission announced Sunday that four prisoners are on an open hunger strike in the violations of the Zionist enemy's prison administration and the enemy's arbitrary administrative decisions.

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) quoted the Commission in a press statement, as saying the striking detainees are: Kayed al-Fasfus, who is in the Negev prison from Dura in Hebron, 34, and who has been on strike for 32 days. He has been detained since the second of last May, and he is a former prisoner. He spent about seven years in enemy prisons, and went on a hunger strike at the end of May and the beginning of last June for nine days. He also went on a strike in 2021 against his administrative detention that lasted for 131 days.

Prisoner Sultan Khallouf, 42, who is in al-Jalameh prison from the town of Burqin near Jenin, has been on strike for 32 days, since the moment of his arrest at the beginning of last month. An administrative detention order has been issued against him for a period of four months, knowing that he is a former prisoner who spent years in enemy prisons. He went on a hunger strike in 2019 that lasted for 67 days, rejecting his administrative detention.

Prisoner Abdul Rahman Iyad Baraqa, 24, from Aqabat Jabr camp in Jericho has continued his strike for 25 days. He has been detained since April 30 and is in “Raymond” prison. Prisoner Maher al-Akhras, 52, from the town of Silat al-Dhahr in Jenin has continued his strike since 12 days. He is a former prisoner who spent five years in enemy prisons, the last of which was in 2020, during which he launched an open hunger strike in rejection of his administrative detention, which lasted for 103 days. He is married and the father of six children, knowing that he is detained in the cells of the al-Jalameh detention center.
