AMRAN August 31. 2023 (Saba) - His Excellency Sir Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, visited the province of Amran to inspect the concerns and requirements of the community, as well as to inaugurate, open and lay the foundation stone for a number of development, service and development projects.
Upon his arrival in the city of Amran, he was received by the Governor of the province, Dr. Faisal Jaman, the Secretary-General of the Governorate’s Local Council, Saleh Al-Makhlous, the President of the province Court of Appeal, Judge Abdul Karim Al-Shami, the First Undersecretary of the Governorate, Abdulaziz Abu Kharfsha, the Undersecretary of the Governorate, Abdul Rahman Al-Ghouli, and the Director of the Governorate’s Security, Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Khader.
His Excellency the President initiated his visit by inspecting President Salih Al-Samad's Hospital and viewing the various departments, specializations and medical and health formations of the hospital and instructing the hospital to cover a solar power system of up to 300 kilowatts.
President Al-Mashat laid the foundation stone for the project of the Cardiac Interventionist Catheter Unit in the body of President Al-Samad's Hospital, which will include construction, units, equipment, specialized equipment and technical equipment at a cost of $ 400 thousand with government funding.
It also laid the foundation stone for 30 health projects spread across the governorate's districts at a cost of 1 billion 100 million riyals, 2 million and 290,000 dollars.
His Excellency the President inaugurated and unveiled 23 projects in the health sector spread across the various districts at a total cost of about 500 million riyals and $775,000 in government funding and external support.
President Al-Mashat opened and unveiled 39 educational projects at a cost of 2 billion, 158 million and 598,000 rials, laying the foundation stone for nine educational projects at a cost of 759 million and 467,000 rials, all spread across the governorate's directorates.
President Al-Samad's street project opened south of Amran city with a length of three kilos and 600 metres and a width of 40 metres, including asphalt works, parks, central islands, sidewalks, lighting, decorations and other technical improvements.
President Al-Mashat also inaugurated 11 projects in the field of developing and expanding the basic and infrastructure of Amran University, and the branch of the Higher Academy of the Holy Qur’an, including buildings, classrooms and the establishment of pharmacy laboratories for the College of Medicine and other halls and laboratories in the university at a total cost of 759 million and 467 thousand riyals.
