SANA'A August 26. 2023 (Saba) - His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council, met on Saturday the editor-in-chief of Al-Wasat newspaper, journalist and writer Jamal Amer.

In the meeting, His Excellency the President stressed the importance of lining up the media in the face of aggression in accordance with the national constants.

He stressed respect for constructive criticism and pluralism that does not go beyond national and religious constants, with the need to appreciate the circumstances the country is going through, including unprecedented aggression, blockade and external conspiracies.

President Al-Mashat called on all media professionals to sense the historical and national responsibility in this sensitive and delicate stage that Yemen is going through, and to present a constructive speech that unites the ranks and does not divide them, and works to improve the discourse and the media in educating the Yemeni people.. stressing the commitment to protecting responsible freedom.

He said, "Media work should not be practiced in ways that contravene the system and the law that sets a ceiling for freedom that does not go beyond Islamic and national constants, and guarantees freedom of expression within the framework of the supreme interest."

His Excellency the President denounced the closure of the American platforms serving the enemy to the national media platforms that highlight the crimes of the American-Saudi aggression against the Yemeni people.

He added, "These measures confirm the falsity of the American Western slogans that claim freedom of expression, opinion, and the other opinion," stressing that these platforms seek, through their procedures, to cover up the crimes of the US-Saudi aggression in Yemen, as they are an essential partner in it.
