Putin: I will discuss with Lukashenko to launch high-speed train line between Moscow, Minsk
[20/ August/2023]
MOSCOW Aug. 20. 2023 (Saba) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he will discuss with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko the launch of high-speed trains between Moscow and Minsk, as part of the plan to develop railways and transportation in Russia.

Putin also proposed, according to Russia Today, to officials to extend a railway for fast trains from Moscow to the tourist city of Adler in the Krasnodar region in the south of the country and the new regions that joined Russia.

Putin indicated that these trains will shorten the travel time for citizens for recreation to the resorts of southern Russia on the Black Sea. He also called for studying linking Lugansk and Donetsk with the Moscow-Adler line.

On Thursday, Putin inaugurated the "MTSD3" line for trains, which has a length of 85 km and includes 38 new stations, linking the cities of Zelenograd, west of Moscow, and Ramensky, east of it.

The launch of the MTSD3 line came after the launch of the MTSD1 and MTSD2 lines, as a continuation of the development of the train and subway network in Moscow and its province, which has doubled in length and capacity in ten years, while the capital and its province are awaiting the launch of MTSD4 until end of this year.
