 President Al-Mashat visits Al-Madan district historical Shihara city in Amran

SANA'A June 30. 2023 (Saba)-His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, made today, Friday, an inspection visit to Al-Madan District in Amran province.

During the visit, President Al-Mashat received well-wishers from citizens on Eid Al-Adha.

President Al-Mashat directed the governor of Amran and the province to provide basic services to citizens with available capabilities, urging the activation of community initiatives.

His Excellency the President expressed thanks, appreciation and gratitude for the honorable positions of the people of Al-Madan in confronting the American-Saudi aggression, and for the convoys of martyrs they offered for the sake of God, and in defense of the homeland, its sovereignty and independence.

President Al-Mashat also visited the historic city of Shihara, which is one of the most famous cities in Yemen and was the capital of Qasimian state and its starting point, which faced the occupation for many centuries, and defeated the invading forces at its gates, and as a result, Yemen was called the cemetery of the invaders.

He reviewed the historical Shihara Bridge, and learned about the qualitative and unique architectural design that distinguished the bridge at the level of the Arabian Peninsula in terms of accuracy, composition, appropriate construction, and the severe mountainous and rocky nature, as it is the most important feature of the city of Shihara, which connects two towering mountains, Mount Shaharat Al-Fesh and Mount Shaharat Al-Amir.

During the visit, President Al-Mashat stressed the importance of preserving this historical landmark that characterizes the Republic of Yemen, as it is one of the most important and beautiful historical monuments, and is considered a tourist shrine with distinction, in which visitors learn about the creativity and mastery of the ancient Yemeni engineer.

After that, he visited the mosque and frankness of Imam Al-Qasim bin Muhammad, peace be upon him, in Shihara district, and he performed Friday prayers with the crowds of citizens there.

Imam Al-Qasim bin Muhammad is considered one of the Yemeni leaders who faced the invasion and occupation.

After the prayer, President Al-Mashat exchanged Eid greetings with the masses of citizens, listening to their concerns and touching on their issues and needs, directing the Salvation Government and the local authority in Amran province to work on resolving them.

The citizens expressed their happiness for this historic visit, considering that President Al-Mashat is the first Yemeni president to visit the two directorates.

He was accompanied during the visit by the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Muhammad Abd al-Karim al-Ghamari, the Commander of the Fifth Military Region, Major General Yusef al-Madani, the Governor of Amran, Dr. Faisal Jamaan, and a number of leaders, officials and social figures.
