GAZA June 23. 2023 (Saba) - On Thursday, the International Movement for the Defence of Children (MDC) considered that Palestinian children were being targeted by the Zionist enemy.
According to Palestine Online, the movement said it had documented 23 children being killed by Zionist enemy forces in the West Bank and east Al-Quds since the beginning of this year.
According to MDC, its investigations and evidence regularly indicate that enemy forces use lethal force against Palestinian children in circumstances amounting to extrajudicial killings or intentional killings, taking advantage of its policy of lack of accountability and impunity.
MDC stressed that the unannounced shooting of Palestinian children by enemy forces and the targeting of upper parts of their bodies was a clear violation of international law and that deliberate lethal force could only be justified in circumstances where there was a direct threat to life or serious injury.
MDC reiterated that its investigations on the ground indicate that enemy forces systematically target upper parts of the body when firing at Palestinian children, either with intent to kill or with intent to leave permanent impairment, and that excessive use of force is the norm.
Since the beginning of this year, the movement has documented 23 children being killed by enemy forces in the Bank and East Al-Quds, the latest being Ashraf Mourad al-Sa'adi, 15, from Jenin camp, who was killed in the bombing of the vehicle he was travelling with two other young men by a drone on the evening of June 21.
