BEIJING June 11. 2023 (Saba) - China's foreign ministry on Sunday summoned the South Korean ambassador to file a complaint about Seoul's criticism of recent comments carried out by Beijing's ambassador to South Korea.
Reuters news agency quoted the ministry in a statement as saying the Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong summoned the South Korean ambassador, and expressed his deep concern and dissatisfaction of Seoul's inappropriate reaction to the Chinese ambassador's comments that he made during a meeting with the leader of the Republic's opposition party in South Korea.
Last Friday, South Korea summoned the Chinese ambassador to inform him of its protest while the Chinese ambassador warned Seoul against making "wrong bets" in the dispute between China and the United States.
