Ministry of Transport meeting stresses need to open new destinations for transporting patients & pilgrims through Sana'a airport

SANA'A June 10. 2023 (Saba) - A meeting in Sana'a on Saturday, which included Ministers of Transport Abdel-Wahhab Al-Durrah and Minister of Public Works Ghaleb Mutlaq, confirmed the need to open the new destinations for transporting sick cases, travelers and pilgrims through Sana' a International Airport.

The meeting stressed the importance of Yemen Airlines' commitment to equipping, scheduling and programming special flights to transport the Rahman guests registered at the Hajj and Umrah offices in Sana'a and nearby governorates through Sana'a International Airport and facilitate the process of their authorization.

The meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Transport for the Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, Guidance and Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Nami, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yemeni Airlines, Khalil Jahaf, and the representative of the Office of the UN representative in Yemen, touched on the suffering and difficulties faced by pilgrims while traveling by land due to long distances, rough and unsafe roads. He called on the United Nations to pay attention to the humanitarian file as a right guaranteed by international laws and agreements.

The meeting reviewed arrangements to open the new destinations of passengers and pilgrims of Beit Allah al-Haram by air through Sana 'a airport, whether for treatment or for a hajj pilgrimage and to return home easily.

At the meeting, the Minister of Transport noted the importance of Yemen Airlines allocating flights through Sana'a airport to transport pilgrims to Beit Allah.

He drew attention to the interest of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in the pilgrims of the Republic of Yemen, without exception, providing them with all services and facilitating their travel and return procedures.

The Minister of Works stressed the need to act fully impartially in relation to the rights of the Yemeni people in general and the pilgrims of Beit Allah al-Haram in particular, including their right to travel by air.
