OCCUPIED AL-QUDS June 08. 2023 (Saba) - European Union's Special Representative for Human Rights Eamon Gilmore has reaffirmed the Union's position on the illegality of "Israeli" settlements, house demolitions, and forced evictions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Gilmore added during an event in Ramallah organized by the al-Quds human rights organizations and the European Union office in al-Quds on Wednesday, that "human rights" provide for treating everyone with dignity, and they are equal rights for all people anywhere in the world...the right to go to work...freedom Movement.. the right to live in dignity.. and not be subjected to persecution and racism.. and other simple rights.”
He pointed out that the European Union will continue to work to protect and promote human rights in Palestine, by continuing to support human rights institutions and civil society, in addition to supporting the Palestinian government to strengthen its institutions and provide basic services to citizens.
The Palestinian news agency (Safa) said that Gilmore called for the need to ensure accountability and bring the perpetrators to justice in the crime of the martyrdom of al-Tamimi child, who was martyred last Monday, days after he was shot by the Zionist enemy in Ramallah, stressing the need to provide protection for civilians, especially children, in all circumstances.
