BEIJING June 05. 2023 (Saba) - Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu on Monday reaffirmed that the reunification of his country is a historical trend and an unstoppable approach, stressing that the Taiwan issue is the basis of China's core interests.
Xinhua news agency quoted Minister Zhang Fu, during the Shangri-La Dialogue held in Singapore in the presence of defense ministers, senior military leaders and defense and security policy makers from various countries of the world, as saying "The Taiwan issue is China's internal affairs, this is the first indisputable fact.
Fu pointed out that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China and that how to solve the issue is a matter for the Chinese to decide as it does not bear any interference from any external forces.
The Chinese minister warned that any act of obscuring the one-China principle and emptying it of its content is an absurd and dangerous act.
He said the more separatist activities seeking the so-called Taiwan independence increase, the more resolute our countermeasures will be, and we will resolutely safeguard our national sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity no matter the price.
