PORT-AU-PRINCE June 05. 2023 (Saba) - At least 15 people were killed and eight others went missing in torrential rains in different parts of Haiti.
Haiti's Civil Protection Agency said that the floods forced nearly 13,400 people to evacuate their homes as the waters damaged hundreds of buildings across the country and turned some streets into rivers.
Officials are still working to assess the extent of the damage caused by the rains that have swept the country since last Saturday.
The rains have also caused severe damage to crops in the central region of Haiti, at a time when Prime Minister Ariel Henry said he was working with local and international organizations to respond to the needs of those affected by the floods.
