Meeting in Red Sea Ports Foundation to discuss projects agreed with United Nations

HODEIDA June 04. 2023 (Saba) - The Chief Executive Officer of the Yemen Red Sea Ports Foundation, Captain Mohammed Isaac, discussed with the Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme for Operations (UNDP), Mr. Mulugeta Abebe, on Sunday aspects of the matrix of projects agreed to provide for the Foundation's needs.

The meeting, which brought together the Director of the Hodeida Programme Office, Hema Khadka, addressed challenges and actions regarding what had been agreed with UNDP for the implementation of these projects, particularly with regard to the provision of the Port of Hodeida's requirements for development projects and the maintenance of gastronomies, equipment and machinery and its supply with gantry cranes.

Captain Isaac reviewed the efforts of the Foundation and the UNDP liaison team in the matrix's procedures with a view to accelerating the provision of agreed projects to restore the port of Hodeida as required.

He stressed the importance of UNDP playing a more effective role in speeding up the implementation of these projects in accordance with the work matrix's chronic operational plan to translate the Stockholm Agreement into the return of what had been destroyed by aggression in the port of Hodeida.

The Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme for Operations (UNDP) stated that UNDP was committed to its promises to implement priority projects at the port of Hodeida and to seek funding for the remaining projects, noting that UNDP would proceed to accelerate the implementation of what had been agreed with the Red Sea Ports Foundation.

The meeting was attended by the contact group with the Development Programme, project managers and engineering supervision Engineer Sami Moqbuli and maritime operations Captain Mohamed Al Sayis and Procurement Ahmed Salim and Industrial Safety and Security Bandar Shara and follow-up Ibrahim Isaac.
