LIMA June 03. 2023 (Saba) - The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre announced a 5.5 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale south of Peru.
Russia Today quoted the centre in a statement on Saturday: "The epicentre of the earthquake occurred 11 kilometres north-west of the city of Huarancant, which has a population of about 4.6 thousand."
"The earthquake's epicentre was located at a depth of 2 km," the statement added.
To date, no reports of injuries or material damage resulting from the earthquakes have been received.
