Parliament reviews report of Defense, Security Committee

SANA'A May 30. 2023 (Saba) - Parliament in its session on Tuesday, chaired by Deputy Speaker Akram Abdullah Ateyah, reviewed a report of the Defense and Security Committee regarding following-up the implementation of the recommendations of the Parliament regarding the complaints of housing associations and citizens against the procedures of the Armed Forces Land Survey Committee.

The report included matters related to the level of implementation of the Ministry of Interior and the Military Committee for the inventory of the Armed Forces' lands, of the recommendations issued by the Parliament and the committee's comment on that.

The report concluded with a number of observations, conclusions and recommendations reached by the committee.

The Parliament postponed the discussion of the report to a next session in the presence of the concerned government side.

In addition, the Parliament listened to questions and inquiries submitted by members of Parliament Ali al-Zanam and Ahmed Saif Hashed to the Ministers of Local Administration, Public Works and Roads, and the Chairman of the General Authority for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning on issues related to urban planning, including approved urban plans that have not been implemented.

Questions and inquiries touched on what was included in the minutes of the agreement that was concluded between the General Authority for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning and the Ministries of Public Works, Roads and Local Administration on April 6, 2021 in this regard.

Al-Zanam and Hashed confirmed the presence of the government side, represented by the Ministers of Local Administration and the Ministers of Public Works and Roads, to respond to questions and inquiries addressed to them as soon as possible, in accordance with the text of the regulation.
