BEIRUT May 29 2023 (Saba) - Deputy Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem on Monday stressed the need to elect a president for Lebanon away from the game of narrow interests.
Sheikh Qassem wrote on his account on Twitter as saying "The criterion of an inclusive, national Christian president is better for Lebanon than a confrontational president with a sectarian background."
He pointed out that "the candidacy of the head of the Marada Movement, former Minister Suleiman Franjieh, started from the beginning with a weighty number, and it is increasing."
Qassem pointed out that "opposing programs and policies are trying to agree to confront Franjieh, and they hardly meet on one of the lists of 16 candidates."
