TEHRAN May 29. 2023 (Saba)-Iran and the Sultanate of Oman signed last night an agreement to form a joint investment committee between Muscat and Tehran.

Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance Ehsan Khandozi said in a press interview last night: During the Omani delegation's visit today to Iran, an agreement was signed to form a joint investment committee between Iran and the Sultanate Oman, and accordingly investment projects in both Oman and Iran are approved by these The Joint Commission to then enter the implementation phase quickly.

He added: Before Sultan of Oman visit to Tehran, we reached consensus with the Omani side so that we can move from the stage of trade to the stage of investments between the two countries, of course, in addition to trade integration.

Khanduzi continued, “It was also agreed between the two parties on an investment support agreement, which will be signed by both parties after reviewing the procedures in the Omani Shura Council."

In response to a question about the prospects for economic relations between the two countries in the future, he said: Given that after Ayatollah Raisi's visit to Muscat last year, the volume of trade exchange between Iran and the Sultanate Oman increased significantly, indications indicate that in the coming months and next year we will witness an increase also in trade relations between the two countries.

The Sultan Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, arrived in Tehran at the official invitation of the President of the Republic, Mr. Ibrahim Raisi, at the head of a high-level delegation yesterday, Sunday.
