TEHRAN May 07. 2023 (Saba) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani on Sunday confirmed that the interventionist and supportive stances of some European countries following the execution of the leader of one of the terrorist groups is considered encouragement and promotion of terrorism in the world instead of condemning it.
In Kanaani’s statement, reported by the Iranian News Agency, he said “It is a matter of great regret that some European countries, instead of confronting terrorists who target the lives of innocent citizens and commit crimes openly, are taking, in an unjustified step and contrary to the basic values of human rights, to provide support for these terrorists.”
He added "Habibullah Farajullah Ja'ab," known as "Habib Asyud," was a leader of one of the terrorist groups and supervised the planning and implementation of many criminal operations, including the cowardly operation on May 21, 2018 in the city of Ahwaz (belonging to Khuzestan Province - southwest), which as a result, many innocent citizens, including women and children, were killed and wounded.
Kanaani continued that Asyud person includes in his black record a list of assassinations and the killing of innocent men, women and children.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman considered that such Western stances supporting terrorists are not only an attempt to prevent the implementation of justice, but also lead to stimulation and promotion of the hateful phenomenon of terrorism around the world.
Kanaani reaffirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to continue combating terrorism and implementing justice in the face of terrorists and will spare no effort to preserve the rights of the Iranian people and provide them with security.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman denounced the destructive stances of human rights violators, saying, "If the will and serious determination to combat terrorism are lacking in the European prosecutors, then let them, at a minimum, stop their stances in support of terrorists, which increase the suffering of the families of the victims."
