SANA'A April 06. 2023 (Saba) - The Yemenis did not stand idly by in front of the aggression machine that targeted everything beautiful in the homeland, and destroyed the infrastructure of all vital sectors, so their will was firm in confronting the aggression in various fields, as much as their rejection and confrontation of aggression and its ugliness.
The confrontation of our Yemeni people against the aggression was not limited to the battle fronts only, but also included the various military, economic, agricultural, industrial, educational and media fronts. They were knights in all fields, overcame their suffering and fought the challenge with strength and determination, with which they overcame the difficulties.
Community initiatives have had an abundant share in drawing the best meanings of community steadfastness in the aggression forces' face and its arrogance, and community initiatives have shown the most wonderful meanings of popular cohesion to get out of the bottleneck that the aggression tried to put the Yemeni people in.
In Sana’a, the efforts of the Department of Community Initiatives, with the participation of the local authorities in the districts and the community’s contribution, have been credited with implementing hundreds of service and development projects that have overcome many of the difficulties imposed by the aggression and the blockade, and even those that were a dream for the people during the past decades.
These efforts culminated in the supervision and follow-up of the local authority in the province in the completion of 292 projects, during the period from 1 Muharram to 22 Shaaban 1444 AH, out of a total number of 317 projects, at a cost of one billion and 201 million and 26 thousand and 939 riyals, and work is still ongoing in the implementation of 25 projects.
According to a report issued by the province’s Reporting Committee, a copy of which was obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), self-initiatives during the same period amounted to 286 initiatives at a cost of 417,950,950 riyals, while supported initiatives amounted to 31 initiatives at a cost of 449,253,493 riyals.
The report indicated that community contributions amounted to 333,822,497 riyals, pointing out that the number of initiatives from the development plan for the year 1444 AH amounted to 22 initiatives at a cost of 653,330,655 riyals.
The community initiatives had positive results represented in raising the level of community awareness of the importance of community initiatives in the province directorates among citizens.
Develop and improve the level of implementation of development and service projects in the province, and make the best use of the aspects of support provided by the leadership of the local authority in the province in community initiatives.
It also had the effect of encouraging the community to adopt important vital projects and providing the necessary support for their implementation, within the framework of social construction activities that strengthen and consolidate the Yemeni faith identity.
Community initiatives also contributed to developing and building the capabilities of members of cooperative and charitable societies and Knights of Development in the province in various fields.
