SANA'A March 26. 2023 (Saba) - The Civil Aviation and Meteorological Authority (CAMA) on Sunday confirmed that the decision to ban sales of travel tickets from Yemen on Sana'a - Amman line will negatively affect Yemeni Airlines in the near term if this decision is not reversed.
Director General of Air Transport at the CAMA Mazen Ghanem said that the decision caused great resentment and discontent, and the loss of confidence of the passengers in Yemenia Airlines for the complexity of their travel procedures through their official national carrier.
Ghanem pointed out that nearly 70 percent of travel agency employees will lose their source of livelihood for closing travel ticket sales from inside Yemen.
He pointed out that the emergence of a new airline in Yemen will cause Yemen Airways to lose sales and may lead to the company's bankruptcy for the dissatisfaction of travelers and travel agents and their complaints about using the services of Yemen Airways.
Ghanem called on Yemen Airways to stand with the public of its passengers and travel agents at this difficult time and to quickly review its decision to improve its reputation and attract the public of travelers and travel agents to continue its work in the future.
He stressed that there is no freezing of the balances of Yemen Airways at all, indicating that the disposal of its balances by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors in Sana'a is in accordance with what is required by the interest of the company.
