BARIS March 25.2023 (Saba) - French President Emmanuel Macron and Algerian Abdelmadjid Tebboune turned on Friday the page on the recent diplomatic crisis between the two countries and announced their desire to continue “strengthening bilateral cooperation,” according to Agence France-Presse indicated to Elysee.
During a telephone conversation, the two presidents raised the “misunderstanding” related to the dispute over the French-Algerian activist Amira Bouraoui, and “agreed to strengthen channels of communication… to prevent the recurrence of this kind of unfortunate misunderstanding.”
The Elysee said that the Algerian ambassador to France will return to Paris in the coming days, adding that the Algerian president told his French counterpart during the phone conversation that the ambassador would return.
