BEIJING March 21. 2023 (Saba) - The Chinese Foreign Ministry has confirmed the Beijing's continued efforts to reach a settlement to the Ukrainian crisis, noting that it had put forward a document on settlement and de-escalation.
"Since the beginning of the crisis, the Chinese president has been talking about the principles of de-escalation and settlement, and China has put forward a document on a peaceful settlement," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a statement reported by the Russian news agency (Novosti).
Wenbin stressed that "China will continue to pursue this goal to reach a settlement. Our position on the Ukraine crisis is consistent and clear, and we are talking to all parties."
"China's document presents its position in detail, which is based on respecting the sovereignty of countries, abandoning the Cold War mentality and a cease-fire," the spokesman said.
He added that China urges peace and the parties must consider this document, and the parties must also be rational."
