TOKYO February 26. 2023 (Saba) -An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 rocked Japan's northern island of Hokkaido on Saturday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake hit off the Nemuro peninsula at a depth of 61 kilometres (38 miles), according to the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED).
A tsunami warning has not been issued by the authorities.
