Parliament confirms solidarity of Yemeni people with brothers in Syria & Turkey

SANA'A February 07. 2023 (Saba) - The House of Representatives, in its session Tuesday, chaired by Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Rai, stood before the developments of events and developments on the national, regional and international arena, including what the two brotherly peoples of Syria and Turkey were subjected to from an earthquake that led to the fall of thousands of victims.

The House of Representatives expressed the solidarity of the Yemeni people with their brothers in Syria and Turkey in their ordeal, expressing deepest condolences and sincere sympathy for the fall of the victims of the Syrian and Turkish peoples. Condolences extended to the families of the victims of the devastating earthquake that struck some areas in northern Syria and southern Turkey.

The House of Representatives in the Republic of Yemen called on the international community and the United Nations to extend a helping hand to face the repercussions of the devastating earthquake and regional and international action to lift the US blockade imposed on stricken Syria.

During the session, the members of the House of Representatives discussed, in the context of their discussions, a number of general issues related to the humanitarian situation in Yemen due to the effects of the repercussions of the aggression and the blockade, including the economic war waged by the countries of the aggression coalition with the aim of narrowing the livelihoods of the people of Yemen and increasing their suffering, including the worsening of the living situation and the rise in prices Medicines, foodstuffs, and the lack of domestic gas to meet the needs of citizens.

They stressed the importance of activating the role of the judicial and oversight bodies and addressing imbalances and shortcomings wherever they are, as well as activating periodic control over the prices of goods and services and searching for effective solutions and remedies for many problems to reduce the burden on the citizen.

They stressed the importance of unifying efforts and cohesion of the national ranks to confront the economic war waged by the aggression coalition with the aim of harming Yemen, land and people. Calling on the international community to take responsibility for the suffering of the Yemeni people and stop tampering with their wealth and harness it for the benefit of development in all governorates of the Republic.

The House of Representatives approved the request for the presence of the National Salvation Government headed by Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor to discuss issues related to the issues and concerns of citizens, improve services, facilitate procedures and transactions, and control the prices of goods and services.

In the session attended by the Minister of State for Parliament and Shura Council Affairs, Dr. Ali Abdullah Abu Haliqa, and the head of the Literacy and Adult Education Authority, Ahmed Yahya Al-Kibsi, the House of Representatives decided to postpone discussing the Education Committee’s report regarding government responses to the Council’s recommendations contained in the committee’s report on the current situation. The Literacy and Adult Education Authority to a next session in the presence of the Ministers of Finance and Education.

The Council had started its session by reviewing its previous minutes and approved it, and it will continue to hold its business sessions tomorrow, Wednesday.
