Sudanese parties renew reject normalization with 'Israel'
[05/ February/2023]
KHARTOUM February 05. 2023 (Saba) - Sudanese parties have expressed their rejection of the Sudanese government's move forward towards normalizing relations with "Israel".

The Broad Islamic Current, a movement composed of 10 Sudanese Islamic parties, condemned this step in an official statement, expressing the Sudanese astonishment at the news of the Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen's visit to Khartoum on Thursday, according to Al Mayadeen.

Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council in Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, received Eli Cohen in Khartoum, where the two discussed "ways to establish fruitful relations" and "prospects of cooperation" in various areas such as security and energy, according to a statement by the sovereign council of Sudan.

The statement indicated that Thursday's meeting was not the first held by the Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan with the occupation. In 2020, he met Netanyahu in the Ugandan city of Entebbe, and later again after they allowed the Mossad delegation visiting Khartoum to visit and inspect the Defense Industries System.

Cohen said on Thursday that Sudan had agreed to "move forward" towards normalizing ties with "Israel".
