Qahim inaugurates distribution of 400 food baskets to displaced & affected people
[02/ February/2023]
HODEIDA February 02. 2023 (Saba) - Hodeidah Governor, Muhammad Ayash Qahim, inaugurated on Thursday the distribution of 2,400 food baskets to the displaced families, the poorest, and people with special needs in the districts of the city square.

The aid, which comes within the second phase of the emergency response project implemented by Direct Aid Society, in cooperation with Shukran Organization, and in coordination with the Humanitarian Affairs Council, targets the directorates of Al-Mina, Al-Hawak and Al-Hali.

At the inauguration, Qahim praised the humanitarian efforts represented in helping families affected by the aggression and siege repercussions in a number of the province's districts to alleviate their suffering in light of what the country has been going through for eight years.

He explained that the escalation of repercussions, the economic crisis and the restrictions imposed on the Red Sea ports resulted in stopping many businesses and cutting off the sources of income of many families, which doubled their suffering.

Qahim also stressed that the humanitarian situation in the province calls for more interventions and emergency aid to reach tens of thousands of families who need relief on a regular basis.

While the Deputy Director General of the Humanitarian Affairs Council branch in the province, Abdullah Al-Ahdal, explained that the distribution of these food baskets to the targeted families in the districts of Al-Hali, Al-Mina and Al-Hawak has been launched within the framework of the distribution plan in coordination with Direct Aid and Shukran Organization.

For his part, the head of Shukran Organization, Rashad Mamoun, praised the cooperation of the province leadership and the Humanitarian Affairs Council branch in overcoming the implementation of projects and humanitarian interventions to reach the largest number of families.
