Repercussions of European governments support to abuse Islam will reflect their security & stability

SANA'A January 28. 2023 (Saba) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the continued ignorance of European governments of the abuse of terrorist extremists in all countries of the world by allowing them to commit hate crimes by burning copies of the Holy Quran.

In a statement to Saba on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned allowing of the Danish authorities to the leader of the right -wing Danish "hardline" party, Rasmus Paludan, to burn a copy of the Book of God, in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, under security guard.

It considered the support of European governments for terrorist extremists who offend the Islamic religion and its symbols, as a result of the continued spread of populist discourse in Europe based on the basis of belief, race or religion.

"Europe will not remain far from the repercussions of these deliberate abuses towards religious beliefs and institutions, and will reflect its security and stability and will witness expected reactions," the ministry said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs's statement warned of the results of such provocations ... pointing out that this populist discourse is one of the forms of violence and terrorism, and a violation of international covenants and treaties that call for the protection of freedom of religion and belief, which the belief in which European governments repeated, but their actions towards the Islamic religion revealed the true face of Europe and the double standards that deal with it.

The statement called on the Swedish, Danish, Dutch and European Union authorities and the United Nations Human Rights Council to investigate these heinous crimes and hold officials accountable from extremist groups, The fact that what is not related in any way is freedom of opinion, expression and freedom of belief that Western countries repeat on a daily basis.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the importance of governments, organizations and international governmental and regional institutions Non -governmental organizations and institutions with their responsibilities to emphasize respect for human rights and take deterrent measures against the planners and perpetrators of violence and incitement against religions, as they shake social peace and hate spreads among peoples.

It stressed the necessity of adopting a binding international decision that criminalizes all forms of hatred and extremism and holding the perpetrators accountable.
