SCMCHA Secretary-General meets Swiss agancy delegation

SANA'A December 08.2022 (Saba) - Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation (SCMCHA) Ibrahim Al-Hamli met here on Thursday with a delegation from the Swiss Development Agency, headed by the Regional Director for the Middle East and Europe, Andrea Studer.

The meeting discussed issues related to the ongoing humanitarian work in the country, where the Yemeni people are going through the worst humanitarian crisis in the world as a result of the aggression and siege.

The SCMCHA Secretary-General talked about the importance of localizing humanitarian work through the coordination with the local organizations to provide the humanitarian aid to the affected people.

He affirmed readiness to facilitate the work of the Swiss agency to implement its projects and interventions that contribute to alleviating the the Yemeni people's suffering.

SCMCHA Secretary-General pointed to the importance of mobilizing the necessary resources and funds to implement projects of a developmental nature.

For her part, Andrea expressed her thanks for facilitating access to Yemen, noting that the Swiss agency's interventions would include several areas, such as livelihoods, food security and drinking water, which are very urgent.

She praised SCMCHA's role in facilitating the coordination with local partners in the field to implement the projects funded by the Swiss Agency, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation with the SCMCHA to succeed the humanitarian work in Yemen.
