6 sailors returned days after being abducted by aggression mercenaries off Medi

SANA'A November 18. 2022 (Saba) – The Ministry of Fisheries confirmed Thursday that the Fish Landing Centre recieved six fishermen after being detained by aggression mercenaries in Al-Luhaya in Hodeida province, as they fish off the coast of Medi in Hajjah province.

In a statement SABA received a copy, the Ministry of Fisheries stated that the abduction of the six fishermen was from the sons of Harja and Bahedh area in Medi these are among the violations that have increased during the last period against Yemeni fishermen by mercenaries and hired Emirati forces on the coasts of the red sea.

The statement condemned the arrest of the six fishermen's by mercenaries (Sailor Ahmed Mashta Ali Aati, Makin Mashta Ali Aati, Musa Salili Mohamed Abu Shakir, Youssef Muhammad Mukhtali, Muhammad Muhammad Mukhtali Khal, Jarad Ahmed Harbi) when they were looking for their livelihood at sea and their stolen boats.

The Ministry of Fisheries called on the United Nations, the international community and human rights organizations to act to stop ongoing abuses against fishermen since the beginning of the aggression.
