HODEIDA 03 October 2022 (Saba) - The General Authority for Marine and Biological Sciences Research and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) organized on Monday in Hodeida province a workshop on designing and constructing the artificial coral reefs in the waters of the Red Sea.
The workshop, which funded by the ICRC, aimed to provide 40 participants with experiences and knowledge about the correct methods of creating and designing coral reefs.
Coordinator of the General Authority for Marine and Biological Sciences Research Abdullah Saber said the workshop aims to preserve the environment and marine life and meets the aspirations of fishermen.
Saber stressed the importance of the workshop in introducing health methods in the process of maintaining and laying artificial coral reefs in a way that enhances the increase of fish stocks.
For his part, the economic security official at the ICRC in Hodeida explained that the project aims to support local institutions to play their roles in serving the community in a more sustainable manner.
