SANA'A, Sep. 29 (Saba) - The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel opened on Thursday the Centre for Surgery, Kidney Transplantation and Urology of the General Al-Thawra Hospital Authority in Sana'a.
Agricultural operations will resume in the coming weeks, Dr. Taha confirmed.
The Minister of Health confirmed that the opening of the nephrological centre and the rehabilitation of its landing departments is a qualitative achievement added to the health sector's achievements under aggression and blockade.
He pointed out that the opening coincided with the Yemeni people's celebrations of the days of the revolution and the anniversary of the birth of the Prophet, he noted that there were entities that were willing to support kidney transplants, including the General Zakat Authority.
The Minister of Health thanked the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sana'a for supporting this project. He expressed his hope for further support at the body's kidney and heart centre's.
In turn, consultant first surgeon and kidney transplant Professor Ibrahim Al-Nunu and head of the kidney center Dr. Mujahid Al-Batahi noted that the center and kidney transplants will be resumed after a long hiatus after rehabilitation and providing the center with modern and sophisticated radiation, equipment and supplies.
They praised supporting the Ministry's leadership of the dialysis centre with about 1 million laundry sessions under aggression and siege and the provision of 60 laundry machines, as well as laundry drugs for the next ten years.
