Parliament reviews report on suffering of Yemeni students studying abroad

SANA'A, Sep. 18 (Saba) - The Parliament at its meeting Sunday under the chairmanship of the Vice-Chairman, Abdulrahman al-Jumaei, reviewed a report of the joint commission by the Higher Education and Youth and Sports and the Foreign and Expatriate Committees, regarding the suffering of Yemeni students studying abroad.

The report briefed students' statements reviewing their tragic situation through sit-ins and vigils in front of embassies and attachés of the Republic of Yemen run by the Government of Mercenaries in a number of scholarship countries , including Egypt, Jordan, India, Algeria and Germany, Russia, Malaysia, Morocco, Poland and other countries to claim the payment of their financial dues that have been suspended since 2021.

The report also included facts about the suffering of students in a number of countries and the difficult conditions they are experiencing as a result of their debt accumulation.

The report concluded with the Committee's proposal for a number of recommendations.

The Parliament postponed its discussion of the report to a future meeting.
