[12/ September/2022]

SANA'A, Sep. 12 (Saba) - The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) reported that the aggression coalition seized on Monday a new gasoline ship despite it is cleared by the United Nations.

The company's official spokesman, Issam Al-Mutawakil, explained to Yemeni News Agency (Saba) US-Saudi aggression coalition, in partnership with the United Nations, continues to violate the temporary truce and seize the gasoline ship "Red Ruby", which raises the number of seized fuel vessels to 2.

He denounced the aggression coalition's insistence and persistence in following the policy of siege and starvation against Yemeni people and obstructing the arrival of fuel derivatives vessels.

He considered preventing the entry of fuel ships and piracy on them as a crime that contradicts international and humanitarian norms, charters and laws.

Al-Mutawakil stressed the importance of adhering to the provisions of the temporary truce and working to end the obstacles that the aggression coalition is trying to circumvent and repudiate the implementation of its provisions by continuing to seize fuel vessels.

He called not to use oil derivatives ships as a weapon and a means of collective punishment against Yemeni people.

Al-Mutawakil Called on the United Nations and its Special Envoy to assume their responsibilities and to compel the aggression coalition to abide by the terms of the armistice and to comply with the laws and agreements that criminalize the detention of fuel ships and piracy on them.
