SANA'A, Aug.09 (Saba) - His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of the Supreme Political Council, met on Tuesday with the head of the Civil Defense Department, Major General Abdel Fattah Al-Madani.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress of work in the Civil Defense Department, the achievements it has achieved during the past period, its plans for the current year, and the difficulties it faces in light of the scarcity of capabilities.
The meeting touched on aspects related to the rehabilitation and training of the authority's cadres, as well as providing it with mechanisms and equipment for rescue and confronting natural disasters and fires, especially in light of the torrential rains that Yemen is currently witnessing, and the resulting casualties and damage to citizens' property.
He pointed out the importance of the civil defense in warning role of floods' dangers through the early warning project in Sana'a, to preserve citizens' safety.
He emphasized that that the Authority's activity is directly related to citizens' lives and the protection of public and private properties, stressing the keenness to enhance the Authority's role, provide its necessary equipment and supplies to enable it to perform its role to the fullest.
President Al-Mashat praised the leadership's efforts and Civil Defense Department cadres, and their keenness to develop and modernize their work mechanisms, in line with developments in the civil defense field.
