BAYDA, Aug. 09(Saba) - Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance Rashid Abu Lahoum along with Head of the Customs Authority Youssef Zabara, and Head of Tax Authority Ali Al-Shamahi, were briefed on the progress of work at the Afar Customs Port in Al-Bayda province.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs heard from the head of the Customs Authority an explanation of the level of application of electronic systems in the customs collection process at the center.
Dr. Abu Lahoum emphasized that the regulations prepared by the Ministry of Finance and the Customs Authority contributed directly to saving time and effort in the collection process.
He pointed out that the goal of automating customs work is to raise the efficiency of collection and contribute to reducing the problems that the customs work was suffering from.
Dr. Abu Lahoum visited the center's yard, familiarizing himself with the procedures for organizing locomotives and inspecting the goods.
He stressed that the Customs Authority is working within the framework of integrated plans and in accordance with the latest international customs systems, including the "barcode" system.
