Transport Minister stresses importance of opening new destinations for commercial air traffic flights through Sana'a airport

SANA'A, Aug.07 (Saba) - Transport Minister Abdulwahab Yahya Al-Durra stressed Saturday the importance of speeding up the opening of new destinations for commercial and civilian air traffic flights through Sana'a International Airport to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis.

He noted that opening new destinations through Sana'a airport will facilitate the movement and freedom of transport for Yemeni passengers, especially patients who need to travel for treatment abroad. Noting the efforts and services provided by Yemen Airlines to passengers at Yemen airports.

The Minister of Transport pointed out that the Yemeni Oil Company should provide fuel for commercial and United Nations aircraft at Sana'a International Airport as agreed and approved by the United Nations envoy at a meeting during his recent visit to the capital Sana'a.

He stressed the need for Yemen Airlines' commitment to work in accordance with development plans and studies and keep pace with which it contributes to the upgrading of its civil aviation services.

Minister Al-Durra urged Yemen Airlines to redouble its efforts to improve performance and develop the company as the official carrier of the Republic of Yemen.

The meeting was heard from the Acting Yemeni Airlines Company to a detailed description of the company's achievements and challenges and work towards their resolution. "The company provides air transport services in every professional manner through highly qualified technical cadres in the field of civil aviation."

In turn, the Executive Director of the Yemeni Petroleum Company indicated the company's readiness to provide fuel to civilian and international aircraft landing at Sana'a International Airport on a regular basis.

He stressed that the company seeks to provide oil derivatives to alleviate the suffering of Yemeni citizens despite the continuing aggression coalition states in the maritime piracy of oil vessels.

The meeting also discussed the workflow of Yemen Airlines and the opening of new destinations through Sana'a International Airport.
