Meeting held in Sana'a between Transport & Industry Ministries

SANA'A, Jun. 22 (Saba) - A meeting held Wednesday in Sana' a that included the Ministers of Transport, Abdulwahab Yahya Al-Durra, Industry and Commerce, Mohammed Sharaf Al-Mutahar, discussed the mechanism for the development of cooperation relations between the two ministries and the private sector.

The meeting reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation and partnership between the Government and the private sector in various economic areas and challenges and difficulties faced by the private sector in the performance of its economic functions.

The meeting touched on the facilities for the shipment of foodstuffs and the need to enhance the status of the port of Hodeida and overcome any obstacles to receiving ships and discharges in accordance with the latest international standards.

The meeting called for the opening of all roads and ports and the running of flights and seas without any restrictions and in a permanent and continuous manner, thereby contributing to alleviating the traveler's suffering and facilitating the transport of goods between the provinces.

The meeting also called for the expeditious operation of Sana 'a Cairo flights due to the high number of registered cases of medical travel in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

At the meeting, the Minister of Transport stressed the need to strengthen the partnership with the private sector of traders, investors, and venture capitalists, noting that the Ministry of Transport and its affiliated bodies and institutions continue to provide all the facilities needed by the private sector to achieve the goals and successes that will enhance the national economy and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

For his part, the Minister of Industry and Trade reviewed the facilities and concessions offered by the Ministry to the commercial sector and importers from all governorates and resolved any problems facing business and economic work.

He stressed the Ministry's keenness to cooperate with the private and commercial sector to continue providing and flowing food and basic commodities to markets and to monitor the stabilization of the ration and price situation to alleviate the suffering of citizens as a result of aggression and blockade.

The President of the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Foundation, Captain Mohammed Abubakr Issac, reaffirmed the Foundation's readiness to cooperate with the relevant authorities to mitigate the effects of the global economic crisis.

Furthermore, the Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Navigation commended the facilities provided by the Ministries of Transport, Industry, and Commerce and the level of services provided by the Red Sea Port Corporation with high professionalism for all vessels entering the port of Hodeida.
