SANA'A, Jun. 05 (Saba) - His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, met on Sunday with Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Abdulraqib al-Shurmani.
In the meeting, al-Mashat and al-Shurmani discussed the progress of work at the ministry and its affiliated institutions and bodies, and the projects and reforms implemented during the past period in the water and sanitation sector in the capital Sana'a and various provinces, and ways to overcome the difficulties facing work in light of the aggression and siege.
President al-Mashat stressed the keenness to redouble efforts to improve the level of services provided to the community, especially in the field of water and work to deliver it to all citizens.
Al-Mashat pointed to the need to expand the implementation of water and sanitation projects by moving to renewable energy projects, to contribute to alleviating the suffering of citizens in light of the current conditions.
He noted that alternative energy projects will contribute to reducing dependence on fuel, in addition to that their cost will be lower in n view of the high fuel prices during the current stage.
Al-Mashat stressed the need for water and sanitation institutions to move from the stage of dependence on others to the stage of self-reliance.
