Woman killed, civilian injured in mine explosion in Hodeida, Bayda

SANA'A, May. 29 (Saba) - A woman was killed and a citizen was injured on Sunday as a result of an explosion of a mine left by the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression in Hodeida and Bayda provinces.

The Executive Center for Mine Action said in a statement to Saba that a woman was killed as a result of a mine explosion left over from the aggression in al-Rabsa area of al-Hawak district of Hodeida governorate while collecting wood hours after two citizens were killed and a child was injured north of Hays of the mine left by the aggression.

The center confirmed that a citizen of al-Zaher district in Bayda province was injured while grazing sheep, as a result of an explosion projectile left over from the aggression coalition.

He noted that the number of victims, caused by the explosion of remnants of aggression from mines and cluster bombs, has risen to 305 citizens killed and wounded since the beginning of this year.

The statement pointed out that the center is facing difficulties due to the lack of support provided by the United Nations Development Program, and the failure to adhere to its responsibilities towards field work, in addition to preventing the coalition of aggression from entering the detectors to cleanse areas contaminated with these dangerous waste.
